A survey of instantaneous poles for a class of two-degree-of-freedom spherical mechanisms

Soheil ZARKANDI

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2014, Volume 9, Issue 4,   Pages 344-353 doi: 10.1007/s11465-014-0320-z

Abstract:

This paper is a detailed exploration of instantaneous poles for a class of two-degree-of-freedom (two-DOF) spherical mechanisms (SMs) with seven links or bars. For two-DOF SMs, the secondary instantaneous poles (the ones which cannot be found by direct inspection) must lie on the specified great circles. For many of these mechanisms, however, some of these great circles cannot be obtained by a direct application of Aronhold-Kennedy theorem. This paper presents geometrical and analytical techniques to locate these unknown great circles for three topologies of seven-bar two-DOF SMs.

Abstract:

The meridian (Jing-Luo) is a core principle of Chinese medicine. The meridian plays a central role in the regulation of human health and vitality.Meridian Science has been established as a new branch of natural science to advance and promote the studyIn this paper, the authors describe the theoretical concept of the meridian and mathematics expression, its relationship to an efficient meridian circadian cycle, and its significance to human life.

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 11,   Pages 14-17

Abstract: Based on previous and existing experimental results, we combine the basic theory of acupunture and meridianwith that of neuroendocrine immune system and propose a new tentative theory of human meridian. We hypothesize that the human meridian system consists of neuroendocrine immune networks with numerousThe complex meridian networks are then not only spreading over the whole human body but also taking effects

New form of geodetic coordinate system taking two length quantity as coordinate parameters

Yimin SHI, Ziyang ZHU, Yeming FAN

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2009, Volume 3, Issue 1,   Pages 105-110 doi: 10.1007/s11709-009-0014-5

Abstract: A new form of geodetic coordinate system based on geodesic coordinates instead of geodetic longitude and latitude was proposed. The vertical and horizontal geodesic coordinates measured with length were defined as coordinate parameters, but the two families of coordinate curves were still meridians and parallel circles. The first fundamental form on the ellipsoidal surface and its three coefficients were deduced by the geodesic coordinate. The formula for the latitudinal scale factor of length for geodetic parallel lines was derived, by which the obtained result conformed to that standard value calculated from geodetic latitude, and it is applicable in the range of 400 km from north to south. Therefore, it lays the foundation for establishing the differential equation and differential relationship based on this type of coordinate parameters; and consequently, it is convenient and accurate enough to operate on the ellipsoidal surface in this new form of geodetic coordinate system.
